Fusemachines – NAAMII Partnership

It is with great pleasure we announce the establishment of a partnership between NAAMII and Fusemachines.

Fusemachines, based in New York, is one of the leading AI companies in Nepal. With offices spread in the other two locations: The Dominican Republic and Canada, Fusemachines is working to scale its business leveraging AI as a service. The company upholds the core social mission to democratize AI, closing the existing opportunity gap by spreading access to high-level training in AI.

NAAMII is a newly established, rapidly growing research institute in Nepal. The company is serving its vision of conducting world-leading research, continuously bettering the lives of people at the local and global level. For building a favorable environment of doing such high-quality research right here in Nepal, NAAMII believes that it should also contribute to two major areas:

1. Higher education in collaboration with existing Universities

2. Industry and Innovation in collaboration with existing industries and potential new startups

On one hand, the nascent IT and AI industry in Nepal is in need of access to state-of-the-art technologies and scientists working in the related field. During this time it is important to strengthen the capacity of engineers and engineering students for growth in this highly competitive market. On the other hand, research institute like NAAMII requires a sustainable revenue model to attract and support high-quality researchers in the country. With this need and opportunity in mind, we are very happy to announce that Fusemachines is providing a seed grant for the period of two years to NAAMII. In return to the part of the grant, NAAMII’s scientist is working part-time with Fusemachines, conducting research and mentoring engineers.
