Celebration of 5 years of NAAMII alongside workshops on “Chatbots in effective government service delivery”, and “AI in fetal ultrasound”

In a event held at Park Village Resort, Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, Nepal Applied Mathematics and Informatics Institute for research (NAAMII) celebrated five years of transformative AI research and innovation. The event, co-organized by NAAMII and Diyo.AI, brought together key stakeholders from government officials, UN agencies, international organizations, industry leaders, and renowned professionals from diverse fields.

 

As the world navigates the complexities of the Artificial Intelligence era, countries like Nepal are faced with the challenge of harnessing the unique opportunities AI presents while mitigating potential threats. NAAMII, in the past half-decade, has positioned itself as a trailblazing AI research center, contributing world-class research and knowledge globally.

 

The program highlighted NAAMII’s crucial step towards establishing a robust ecosystem of research, education, and innovation in AI within Nepal. This initiative is poised to propel the nation to the forefront of AI development, fostering collaboration and knowledge dissemination.

NAAMII presented a workshop on “AI in fetal ultrasound”, while Diyo.AI conducted an insightful workshop on “Chatbots for effective government service delivery”.

 

During the event, Dr. Bishesh Kahanal, Director and co-founder of NAAMII, shared insights into the center’s remarkable 5-year journey. His presentation illuminated NAAMII’s achievements, contributions to global AI knowledge, and plans for the future.

 

The festivities concluded with a networking event and dinner, providing a platform for attendees to connect, collaborate, and strengthen the ties that will drive the future of AI innovation in Nepal.
